I tried three songs that I have never done before, and did fairly well on them, although it's been a while since I've heard "I'll Stand By You" by the The Pretenders, and as big of a voice I'd like to pretend I have, "When You're Good to Mama" was fun, but my range wasn't exactly ready to pull off Queen Latifa. I did "Funny Honey", also from Chicago, which had a lot of pauses from where dialog happens, but didn't have the dialog on the track so I was just kinda standing there.
People are noticing that I've gotten pretty far in what I can sing, and that I'm projecting and belting much better. When Misty came to karaoke last, she was really impressed, so that was pretty spiffy. She got to see me do what's becoming my favorite from The Producers "When You've Got It, Flaunt It" which I have really learned to belt. But wow has it taken practice. Yet again, my bar tab listed fewer drinks than what was actually ordered. I generally buy one or two drinks for other people, and I generally tip a buck even for the drinks I dont get charged for, and I continue to not get charged for some, so I think I've got a pretty good thing going. They know we'll be back... Does being a "regular" at the bar label me a lush? I swear, we really are the collective "Norm!" from Cheers at The Kitty. So Misty's freezing her ass off right now I'm sure. The weather is 14 degrees, 7 with windchill, and expecting snow on Thursday over in Logan, Utah. I hope she's having fun and I hope she wins! Well, back to dealing with customers and corralling persons in the office. Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
