Fuck payroll, fuck em right in the ear. Fuckers need to take a good look at their patronizing responses and get a grip on their records. I've been spending over two months trying to get onto direct deposit. I hate receving a live check. During the past few months they have decided to switch from sending live checks via Fed Ex to delivering them via Airborne Express a day later than usual. Then, last week, they decided to tell all of us who receive live checks that they're going to send them via postal mail. So, friday there was supposed to be a check. Guess what? No check. Went to my old address (which is down the hall) and they hadn't received anything for me. Saturday rolls by, not a damn thing. Pestered my neighbors and they still hadn't received anything. So, this morning I track down 4 of the payroll specialists/managers/whathaveyou, and the responses have been so far "We show that we sent the check. Contact us at the end of the week. We have to give the post office time to send back the check before we can stop payment/reissue. I guess we did have your old address but it is fixed now. You'll be in direct deposit on the next pay period." None of these answers were answers to my actual question, which is how do I get my check in any decent amount of time. I swear they've learned how to answer questions from polititions. So, with that being said. friday after work I went out to see "A Mighty Wind" and it was so fun. The theater was packed, we were right up front, and had so much fun. If you haven't heard of it, it's by Christopher Guest, it's from the same team that brought you "This is Spinal Tap" and "Best of Show" starring a bunch of the same people (Christopher Guest, Michael McKean, and Harry Shearer) but a Mockumentary of folk singer's reunion. I thought it was funny and clever, and the folk music that they wrote for it was pretty neat. Some of the "New York" concert footage actually taking place at USC's Bovard Auditorium, and I think me, Erik, and someone else in the audience all caught on to that at the same time. Sunday, after watching "Jesus Christ, Vampire Hunter" (I know, pretty bad for a religious holiday) we watched "This is Spinal Tap" but with the commentary. It was very surreal, considering that the commentary was by Nigel Tufnel, David St. Hubbins, and Derek Smalls (yes, the characters, not the actors). I've seen the movie several times before, so this was just another layer of fairly funny stuff, almost like Spinal Tap MST3K. I got a lot of organizing done with my stuff, which has gotten really out of hand over the past few months. I'm such a packrat, and my stuff has just kinda grown, and with the random projects that I tend to work on and not complete, I've gone too long without really taking the time to get control over my books/art supplies/sewing stuff/computer stuff/cds/games/etc. Erik's been really great about it, so I know that when I feel like my own stuff is choking me out of my living environment, that he probably feels way overwhelmed at that point. Bathroom and kitchen are also perfectly organized and cleaned now. I was going to go with my sister to visit a friend of mine back in Rialto/San Berdoo at some point over the weekend, she's in a not so fun place right now with her father being in the hospital and pretty bad too, but Misty had some problems tracking her down on Friday, and then got caught up being busy all weekend. I skipped out on doing "Easter dinner" (yes, it's in quotes for a reason) at my mom's in hopes of being able to spend some time with my friend, but with that not happening, Sunday dinner was had at Bennigan's with my boy and a couple of my good friends. Wow, it's 10 now, and the most I've accomplished so far is checking email, bitching at payroll, and doing this entry, better get to work.
