So, I get a couple of email newletters, some of their content borders on spam and ads, but every now and then I get an interesting tidbit or an amusing story. Today, I was sent a newletter that featured several email greeting cards that I normally get on random holidays, with a note of encouragement to send them to friends and family. I've caught on quite some time ago that their email greetings cards are simply a way of advertizing their business and probably for gathering email addresses. Today's cards were to recognize "World Population Day" and raise awareness of overcrowding and of doing your part about population control.

So, I must share here. These are pseudo-cute happy joy joy flash animation greeting cards, but are all just disturbing and downer cards trying to disply the idea that "the world is fucked because it's overcrowded"

Yeah, that's what I'd want to get a greeting card about.

See, amusing cards would be people taking shots at passing storks, or someone screaming "Hey! Stop fucking! It's population day!" to their noisy neighbors, or a fertility clinic taking the day off.

I know, I rant about holidays every now and then but c'mon, we've got some really silly ones that really don't mean anything.
