There! That's it! That whizzzzzing sound! It's been bugging me for the longest time. I was hardly able to distinguish it until it got louder... After I saw the latest trailer at the theater. It's Isaac Asimov, spinning in his grave. I don't even know where to begin. I had such high hopes for this, but... they've made a Will Smith action movie... with a big "war against the robots" that feels almost Matrix-y (3rd movie, big digital overblown war of the machines).. and it's just... not.. supposed to be like that... Sure, there's a bit of paranoia and fear, but I don't remember robot wars, uprisings, murderous robots with agendas and the like. Isn't Will Smith tired of making these types of movies by the way? I'm going to have to re-read some stuff now. Maybe I'm just remembering the stories that explore the philosophies that have been the foundation of science fiction throughout the years, and have forgotten some things. I just have this bad feeling that they're going to gloss over the important points of the stories, like they've done with Heinlein and other respected storytellers of years past. Fuckin' Hollywood. Fuckin' movie industry. Read/Post Comments (8) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
