Enjoy the ride. Currently, I live in a small 'crossroad' town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I'm raising a wonderful son, cultivating a promissing career in Real Estate and enjoying every day! I'm involved in many community activities, charitable organizations and do LOTS of Yoga! Life is a great ride. Things change, I adapt and follow the 'road' with love and humility. 2004-07-27 9:39 PM Avocados are Good I love Avocados and the guacamole they turn into too! My grandfather raised 10 acres of Avocados while I was growing up. We had lots of fresh ones around all the time. Our family affectionately called them "Guac Eggs". We thought it was cute. :-)
I have had a hard time finding ripe ones in the store. I stopped buying them unless they were soft and ripe. But, the other day, while shopping with my Aunt Cindy, she shared a wonderful little detail with me. Avocados will ripen if you put them in the dark. I tried it and it worked! I left them in the pantry for a couple of days and they ripened beautifully. I had great guacamole once again! I thought I would share that in case anyone has encountered the same trouble. Who knows, it might work for other things too. Read/Post Comments (4) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
