Enjoy the ride. Currently, I live in a small 'crossroad' town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I'm raising a wonderful son, cultivating a promissing career in Real Estate and enjoying every day! I'm involved in many community activities, charitable organizations and do LOTS of Yoga! Life is a great ride. Things change, I adapt and follow the 'road' with love and humility. 2004-12-30 7:01 AM Special Times Christmas was very nice this year. Reminiscent of old times.
Stu and Gigi had the house decorated beautifully, including a HUGE tree, lighted deer outside, and perfectly hung lights. They had stockings hanging on the fireplace mantle, with all of the grandkids names on them, including a wee little baby sized one for Allex. There was a furry of presents for everyone! We played a game Tom brought called "Ticket to Ride" - a very fun addition to the day. I particularly liked it because I won! Woo. Scooter played guitar for Allex. He plays very well! Allex loved it. He watched intently with delight. We ate a wonderful ham dinner at the lavishly set dining table. Allex enjoyed the mashed potatoes! After dinner we had coffee and pie by the tree while letting the baby crawl around on the floor. He particularly liked crawling over to Scooter and climbing up him. It was so sweet. Everyone noticed their innate familiarity. Too awesome! I almost forgot to mention a particularly touching moment for me. On Christmas Eve, in the morning, Gigi took me to Stuart's gravesite. It was a bright and crisp day with blue skies and a breeze. I was taken back to see so many people there. Most of the graves were decorated with beautiful Holiday decorations like Wreaths, mini Christmas Trees, Pointsettias, and Tinsle. The headstones were polished. You could see how different family members each added something when they came. Gigi put a mini Christmas Tree with ornaments and all. I put a Pointsettia and little sparkly stars. There was an overwhelming air of love and gentle sentiment. It's hard to describe without seeing it. But it was a special experience. I recommend everyone go at that time of year.
