Enjoy the ride.

Currently, I live in a small 'crossroad' town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I'm raising a wonderful son, cultivating a promissing career in Real Estate and enjoying every day! I'm involved in many community activities, charitable organizations and do LOTS of Yoga! Life is a great ride. Things change, I adapt and follow the 'road' with love and humility. So much has been happening, it's been hard to find time for my journal. But, now, the baby is asleep, dinner is cooking, all my clients are content for the time being ...ahh... a quiet minute to myself.

One of the fun highlights from this last week is:

I was chased by a mean dog (with an 'electronic' collar) while previewing a home For Sale. I had the baby with me. Normally I'm not afraid of dogs, but I was unprepared and burdened with a helpless 8 month old baby. I had to make a quick decision. Judging from the dog's body language (and the collar) I decided to run for safety. I ran inside the house with the dog close on my heels. I slammed the door shut just before he got to me! My heart was pumping. The baby sensed it and was very quiet and alert holding on tight.

I got inside the house and realized I was stuck. The house was empty - no phone, no electricity. It was bone chillingly cold, I was in the middle of the mountains and I told no one I was going there.

I had to get back to the car myself. No one was going to rescue me. It was time to fight.

After awhile, I couldn't see the dog anymore, so I ventured outside, carefully. I held the baby tightly with one arm and armed my other with a 2x4 I found. I sprinted for the car, poised to attack. Luckily I didn't see the dog again. But my adrenaline was surging. It was a time when I really did have to use the "fight or flight" instinct and adrenaline. First, I had to flee. Then I had to fight.

    It was quite a rush!
