Enjoy the ride. Currently, I live in a small 'crossroad' town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I'm raising a wonderful son, cultivating a promissing career in Real Estate and enjoying every day! I'm involved in many community activities, charitable organizations and do LOTS of Yoga! Life is a great ride. Things change, I adapt and follow the 'road' with love and humility. 2008-06-01 9:28 PM Rotary Art & Wine Festival The Rotary Art & Wine Festival was a huge success this weekend! I'll hear the official total next week. But, I'm sure we had at least 2,000 people. The gift baskets I organized were a huge hit! I'm hoping we raised a few thousand with them. All the money goes to scholarships for Mariposa High seniors.
It was a beautiful day on the the Historic Courthouse lawn. Local artists and jewelers displayed their wares under white canopies. The bright sunshine was a pleasure with a gentle breeze and there was plenty of shade from the tall Pine Trees. Some folks walked around enjoying art and sipping wine, while others enjoyed their portobello sandwiches at tables under canopies. A cute older band played fun classic oldies. Wineries from all over came and presented tastings. I took Allex with me for the early afternoon. Together, we helped sell raffle tickets and wandered around buying goodies. Later, I took Allex home to rest. My girlfriend Donna and I went back for the late afternoon. She and I enjoyed our wine and visited with people. Last year, she and I got a little tipsy (with the help of William, Richard & Ophelia) so, this year we took it kind of easy :-). Plus, neither Will, Richard or Ophelia were here this time...so we were forced to be good...lol But, she and I had a great time! I'm thrilled it turned out soooo great! Mariposa needs more events like this. And I love our local Rotary club. All the members really get involved and are class A people who do a wonderful service for the community! Even though I'm the youngest member, I love being a part of it :-) Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
