Enjoy the ride. Currently, I live in a small 'crossroad' town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I'm raising a wonderful son, cultivating a promissing career in Real Estate and enjoying every day! I'm involved in many community activities, charitable organizations and do LOTS of Yoga! Life is a great ride. Things change, I adapt and follow the 'road' with love and humility. 2008-06-18 9:26 PM New York Trip Had a 'Wicked' time in NY. Saw the musical and loved it. Took in the sights and sounds of the City - loved it. The city pulses with a beat, unlike anything in CA. It's an assault on the senses - in a good way. I was more comfortable than the last time I went. But, I was still too timid to 'hail a cab'. Luckily, we had a great friend who lived there help us with that :).
I did manage to get Becca and I safely from Ground Zero to Grand Central Station on the subway without any problems! Though, Shiven, our friend in Manhattan, said that was almost impossible to screw up :). Friday night we all arrived by 10pm and walked around Times Square. We ate dinner at a restaurant from Sex in the City, called "The Cafeteria". Had good atmosphere, music and food. After that, Kelly and Michelle headed off to bed. We visited with them in the hotel room for awhile, teasing Becca about her love life. Then, Shiven realized he was "stuck in a chick flick", which gave us all a great big laugh. So Becca, Shiven and I changed the setting and stayed out till 6am! We had a blast. Becca ended up passed out on the conference table at Shiven's office! Too funny! The next day, we headed over to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It was very busy, but we got to see a lot. My favorite was a special display of Superhero Fashion worn by celebrities back to Superman and Wonderwoman. It was very well done and a special treat to see. Kelly plans to recreate some for kinky Saturday nights with Ron - TMI! Sunday, we toured Manhattan, went to the top of Rockafeller Center and looked out over central park - spectacular. That afternoon we saw "Wicked". It was wonderfully done and the actresses were phenominal. Jennifer Block played the 'Wicked Witch' and she was fantastic!!! Glenda the 'Good Witch' was great, but I can't remember her name. That evening, we had dinner at a Cuban restaurant. Shiven headed home to get ready for work. Michelle attended a wedding. And Kelly, Becca and I had some great girl bonding time for 3 hours at the Time Hotel Lounge near Broadway. We met up with Michelle later. While Michelle and I printed our boarding passes, Kelly kept an eye on Becca at our new favorite bar, "O'Gradys". When they finally came back, we all ended up staying awake until time to leave for our flight. Becca was quite entertaining :) Lets just say, we barely kept her from wandering the streets of Manhattan! It was a fun trip! New York is a blast - especially with fun people! It was weird coming home to a quiet town. The contrast sure makes life interesting :). Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
