Enjoy the ride. Currently, I live in a small 'crossroad' town in the Sierra Nevada foothills. I'm raising a wonderful son, cultivating a promissing career in Real Estate and enjoying every day! I'm involved in many community activities, charitable organizations and do LOTS of Yoga! Life is a great ride. Things change, I adapt and follow the 'road' with love and humility. 2008-10-20 9:44 PM Book Dedication! This is something I never thought would happen in my life, but it's pretty cool! A good friend of mine, Debra Salonen, is an accomplished romance novelist for Harlequin Books. She just dedicated her most recent book to me and three of my friends!
The dedication reads, "To Donna, Kori, Jan and Heather - good food, excellent wine and interesting books make for a fabulous excuse to get together, no? Thanks for all you add to my life...and to my books." The five of us started a Book Club several years ago and it has become a ritual none of us want to give up. Our group inspired part of her story line in this 4 part series. She has affectionately named us, "The Wine, Women and Words Book Club." I can't wait for the next book! Apparently, Debra quotes my 4 yr old son in it. I didn't even know about it till the other day. The story goes...Allex was with his longtime nanny, Grandma Jan - as he calls her - because she is more like a grandmother than a nanny. On that day, a loud thunderstorm suddenly swept over the house. They heard the loud noise caused by it and walked out on the porch to see what it was. Jan said, "I think it's Thunder." Allex replied in all seriousness, "No, I think it's Elephants." I can't wait to see it in print! That storm actually was the cause of a large fire in Mariposa. It was such a sudden lighting storm in the middle of summer. No wonder Jan and Allex were surprised by it! The Book is called, "His Brother's Secret".
