I'm a web developer for NOVICA. I'm fascinated by languages, even though I only speak English and a little Spanish. I can count in Korean and have numerous language and linguistics books. I'm living within walking distance of CSUN where I share an apartment with my girlfriend and 2 cats. I'm happy. I write sporadically (I really need to finish that short story), with every intention of making a living at it at an undisclosed point in the future. I taught physics at Emperor's College Winter Term 2008. I love games and stories and music and computers and science and "and." I drink my coffee 100% black 80% of the time and 80% black 20% of the time. Also, there are other things. 7332 42

Reading

I've reached my all time high of books that I started reading yet failed to finish. The short list:
  • Dry Water and Signal to Noise by Eric S. Nylund.
  • Dreamcatcher, From a Buik 8, The Stand, Wolves of the Calla and 2 short story collections by Stephen King
  • Earthly Powers by Anthony Burgess
  • Patriots -- The Vietnam War Remembered from all sides
  • The third Harry Dresden novel
  • Hominids
  • Jeruselum Poker
  • Some random spy thriller by Frank Herbert
  • Some random spy thriller by Anthony Burgess...I think
  • Some random spy thriller by some random guy that is acually known for writing spy thrillers
  • Cryptonomicon, but that's a reread
  • The Man who Never Missed by Steve Perry, also a reread
  • Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson
  • Hyperion
  • a novel with a spaceship on the cover by Peter Hamilton
  • Queen of Angels by Greg Bear
And yes, that is the short list. I'm not at all sure what's wrong with me. I read the last 2 Chuck Paulinuik (sp?) novels in a sitting. Ditto for Prey. I've also read quite a few other books in the past year, but this is getting a little ridiculous. A few on the above list have been on it longer than I've been in LA...

hmmm
