I'm a web developer for NOVICA. I'm fascinated by languages, even though I only speak English and a little Spanish. I can count in Korean and have numerous language and linguistics books. I'm living within walking distance of CSUN where I share an apartment with my girlfriend and 2 cats. I'm happy. I write sporadically (I really need to finish that short story), with every intention of making a living at it at an undisclosed point in the future. I taught physics at Emperor's College Winter Term 2008. I love games and stories and music and computers and science and "and." I drink my coffee 100% black 80% of the time and 80% black 20% of the time. Also, there are other things. 7332 42 | ||

2004-02-08 6:57 PM Family and Fantasy Saturday was a rather unique day for me.
I met lots of family for breakfast at the Farmer's Market on Fairfax. What are the chances that we'd all be together in Los Angeles, and meet for crepes and fresh squeezed orange juice. Rob and Andy are brothers, and my cousins, that grew up in San Antonio. Andy was there with his wife Maria and their 6 month old son Jauquin. Rob was there with his brother in law from Brazil. The reason for the gathering, was Anna, in town for a wedding. She's a cousin that lives in Boston. So there were seven of us, from all over the place. It's weird. We're all adults. I feel a little out of place. Not quite grown up enough. I took Anna back to her friend in Eagle Rock, and picked up Sue and Anne for the Los Angeles Comic Book and Science Fiction Convention. We were there to cover the Dawn of the Dead and Hellboy panels. Both movies look like they will ROCK. Ron Perlman will be absolutely amazing in the role, and Guillermo del Toro was wildly passionate about the project, and making it happen in spite of hollywood. I also saw the trailer for the upcoming Bruckheimer King Arthur. I got a chance to talk with the sword master from that production shortly after he finished filming in Ireland. He said that they built a full scale replica of Hadrian's wall on the Braveheart field, but that they ended up barely using it. Most of the wall in the movie is CG. I always enjoy helping out Sue at these events. A high point this time was meeting David Carradine, who just happened to be there. Be sure to look for our coverrage of the event on cinescape.com. Should be up sometime next week. Also it looks like I'll be at the Angel party later this month. Joyful expression of mirth! Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
