I'm a web developer for NOVICA. I'm fascinated by languages, even though I only speak English and a little Spanish. I can count in Korean and have numerous language and linguistics books. I'm living within walking distance of CSUN where I share an apartment with my girlfriend and 2 cats. I'm happy. I write sporadically (I really need to finish that short story), with every intention of making a living at it at an undisclosed point in the future. I taught physics at Emperor's College Winter Term 2008. I love games and stories and music and computers and science and "and." I drink my coffee 100% black 80% of the time and 80% black 20% of the time. Also, there are other things. 7332 42 | ||

2008-04-29 9:57 AM Two thoughts I drove to work in silence today. My thoughts followed 2 main trains.
Train 1I write reviews of things largely so that I have a good reference as to why I like them. I like to empty my mind as much as possible when reading new stuff so that I can really take it in, and that leads to losing a lot of the details of stuff I read even a few weeks previously. So here's my thought. I'm going to make an online tool, sort of like this, Except specifically devoted to reviews of books. Basically, my reviews will get presented back to me on a schedule such that they (and my associated memories of the story) end up in long term memory, so that it's easier for me to talk about all the stuff I love.
I want to do this online, cause I think there's potentially some power if a bunch of people start doing this type of thing together. We'll see what comes of this. Train 2Just as Star Wars is effectively a fantasy story that makes use of SciFi tropes, I want to write a story of some sort that's a cyberpunk/space opera/noir in a fantasy setting ... now to think up some details.Read/Post Comments (1) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
