I haven't read a book ALL YEAR. This is not ok with me.

I'm sort of in a rut. Sure I could venture back to the Modern Library list and pick another read, but I'm not in the mood to pick something just because I feel that I "ought" to read it.

I want to read something and say..."Holy COW! How can I have lived twenty-seven years and NOT have read this book!"

And because nothing of late has really jumped out at me, begging me to partake of it's wordiness, I'm now soliciting recommendations. So...anyone have anything for me?
