Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"The noun of the self becomes a verb." - Stephen Nachmanovitch*

Rain was predicted for today. When I left the house at 6:15 a.m. for the community center it wasn't raining. It was overcast and cool but no rain.

Ha, not to be put in any kind of box, the return home I received a sprinkle of rain drops. In five minutes I did not get drenched by any great amount.

Well, if that is all the rain we are going to get it just proves you can't forecast weather no matter what kind of fancy gadgets you have.

My second trip to the community center there wasn't even a sprinkle, so much for predicted rain.

As I sat at the computer and checked e-mail and facebook, the rain decided to make its presence known. The birds were still out going after what seed that wasn't sodden. I woke Michael up to see if he would drive me to the community center. I wasn't going to go and return in the rain and then become ill. Michael wouldn't stand for that.

By the time we left the house it had stopped raining. What is up with this rain? Later in the afternoon it did come down again pretty hard. There wasn't enough rainfall to even raise the floater in the rain gauge.

Michael and I watched the birds and they were all hunkered down on branches with overhangs in an attempt to keep dry.

I did not get the laundry done that I intended to but that is okay. Instead we began the second season of Six Feet Under.

This is how we handle a rain day - rain or not.

Oh, happy leap day!

"The noun of self becomes a verb. This flashpoint of creation in the present moment is where work and play merge."
