Words-of-Mine No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.279907 Curiosities served |

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again." - Abraham Maslow ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ When did schools districts begin bringing kids back to school during the last two weeks of August? When I was going to school, it was always the Tuesday after Labor Day. We were in school until the middle of June. In grade school, the last day was spent collecting our belongings and then a picnic lunch at the meeting house on the top of the hill where I lived. It was known as Bell Hill Meeting House. My picnic lunch was always a cucumber sandwich with lots of cucumbers, a touch of salt, and mayo. After lunch, we would play games. Early afternoon we were rounded up and returned to school. From there we would take our buses to be delivered back home. Now that was the way to end the school year. I don't remember what we did during Middle School, Junior High and Senior High School. I know that I attended three different schools during this time. I find this interesting actually. My first six years of school was spent in a three-room school house with three grades in each room. We even had a school bell. What a change when I began going to school with only one grade in the room. Personally, I didn't like the changes at all. Here is a photo of my school which is now the Municipal Office of Otisfield. I wasn't all that good at school. I made average grades. I had a couple of friends; one of them I considered a best friend. Other than that, I was on the fringes not really fitting in anywhere. College was talked about for my future but instead I married and had a baby. In reality I was pregnant and then I got married. It was not until I was older that I began going to community college. I liked going to school when I had a purpose. I can commingle fun classes with serious classes. Maybe some day I may achieve enough credits to graduate with a general degree. But for now, I just read a lot. ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Today has been a quiet day around the apartment. No walks today. I physically felt tired. I decided to listen to my body and stay in. I cleaned up the kitchen, finished the book I was reading, took care of Bailey, and had a nap. Tomorrow is soon enough to begin again. I hope you all had a good day. mz. em ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Currently reading: -- "The Writer's Idea Workshop: How to make your good ideas great" - Jack Heffron -- "Possessed" - Kate Cann ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ CURRENT MOON ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ "I expect to pass through life but once.
