Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

"Slow down, everyone. You're moving too fast." - Jack Johnson

Now that the moon is waning, it is time to give thought to slowing down our actions and thoughts. Me, being who I am, this is a very hard thing to do.

To slow the actions, Michael and I went walking and this works out the busyness I tend to have but I do have a couple of housework projects to do. Michael took care of one of them - mopping the kitchen floor. This was a surprise for me because I had not asked him to do this. The second one is to change the sheets. It may not get done tonight but tomorrow I will have it done.

The day was cooler - felt like it - although the meteorologist had predicted it would be 63 degrees when yesterday was 62 degrees. The skies were playing hide and seek between being foggy and then having some blue skies.

We talked with the road crew for the sewer. One was doing sweeping work around one of the pot holes they created. I went and asked him if when he was done would he come to my house and sweep my kitchen floor. He had a big smile on his face and said sure.

Plus when we walk widdershins (counterclockwise) around the block, we always see one guy who's at this desk which is by the window. We wave at him and he gives us a wave back. For all I know this might be the highlight of his day.

Looking around our neighborhood with all the beauty here, I feel so grateful. Especially after seeing the news programs over the devastation of Hurricane Sandy only she/he has been downgraded to a storm. I cannot believe New York City is underwater.

I have heard from various friends living back East that all is well with them. There were some electrical outage, a few fallen trees, and of course, flooding. It's hard to believe how strong Mother Nature is when She wants to get our attention.

I just now hear the dinner bell. I will close now. Everyone have a good evening.
