Words-of-Mine

No matter what the day brings, deep down I know it really is a good day because I have the man of my dreams, a kitty who loves me, a roof over my head and I live in paradise.

For a change, I slept until my alarm went off this morning. I like it when this happens. My sleep is so spotty lately that I never know what to expect at night.

Another day of sunshine. This made for a nice walk. I made myself warm enough that I had to take off my long-sleeve shirt and tie it around my waist.

I don't know how long this weather is going to last but there are no complaints from me. I know from watching the weather reports that our area needs rain as the lakes are down as well as our water quarries. I'm sure this affects the agriculture in our area as well.

Today was a puttering day for me. I accomplished the following:

1. Washed the inside windows of the truck. Michael has asked me several times but I never seemed to get around to it. I guess it's that sunshine.

2. Swept the bathroom floor of all of Bailey the Cat's litter that his big old feet spread around the floor.

3. Went through a stack of magazines, in hopes I would read them, but I am not so I'm going to donate them to the library.

4. Cleaned up the kitchen by putting dirty dishes in the dishwasher and washing up the handwashables.

5. In getting ready for our annual apartment inspection, I cleaned the stove area. Wiped down the cupboard doors and the back tile, stove hood, and bleached the counter along side the stove. I had to open the windows to air out the apartment but the counter sure looks good. Mr. F's job in this area is that he cleans the stove stop, oven and the broiler. Would you believe it, but one year they dinged us on not having the underside of the hood as clean as possible. I just never know what they are going to look for.

6. Took down the holiday lights around the door.

In all of this activity, I even took time to read several chapters in the current book, Philip Pullman's "The Subtle Knife." I had a friend recommend this trilogy and she raved about it. Myself, I'm finding it hard to get through and some parts give me the creeps. I guess this means Pullman is doing his job in creating good characters even if they are the bad guys.

So another day in paradise is coming to an end. I feel good about the things I accomplished. May tomorrow be as relaxed and productive.

"There comes a time in your life, when you walk away from all the drama and people who create it. You surround yourself with people who make you laugh. Forget the bad, and focus on the good. Love the people who treat you right, pray for the ones who don't. Life is too short to be anything but happy.Falling down is a part of life, getting back up is living."

-- Jose N. Harris, MI VIDA

"I expect to pass through life but once. If therefore, there be any kindness I can show, or any good thing I can do to any fellow being, let me do it now, and not defer or neglect it, as I shall not pass this way again." - William Penn, English entrepreneur and philosopher
