Life in Binary 72583 Curiosities served |
2004-04-15 8:38 PM Lives On Parade Previous Entry :: Next Entry Mood: Bemused Read/Post Comments (2) I've just realised (or re-realised -see very first entry "Why?") the irony of it all.
Somehow, we've come to a point where we can, and very obviously do, put anything from our daily grind to our lifelong dreams on the Net. For people to browse through, obsess with and laugh at. So why do we do it? It's not as if we always put our best feet forward on these blogs. Go ahead. Randomly type through nicknames on any blog site. Chances are that you'll find more tales of trials and gripes than triumphant announcements. Perhaps we are all fans. Fans of the human spirit. Through it all, we cheer those that brace against whatever this fallen world throws at them and survive. We kneel beside those taken down by a wave too big to stand up against, those that have slipped on the way. We feel like offering them tissue paper if nothing else. We somehow hope that we are part of a larger picture, in our own way. What part? Well, that's what makes us each unique. Nonetheless, I feel that in us we each carry a thread of a great story, woven into time with each passing second. Maybe that's what blogs are all about. The ups and downs of another - perhaps a perfect stranger - penned down and displayed before you. You know you're not alone. Alone, threads are fragile. Hmmm. I read a book yesterday. A comic. A Superman comic. (Never thought I'd read a Superman comic...) Anyway, it was about Superman coming to terms with his powers and his first exploits. It's told through four voices (in those narrative boxes they always have), his father, Lois Lane, Lex Luther (his archenemy, for the uninitiated), and Lana Lang (his first love). What struck me, and got me glued from cover to cover (ok, it wasn't that long, but still), was the humanity of it all. He had very human choices to make. Much like ourselves. It's a great read, anyhow, and I intend to buy the book. It's called "Superman for all seasons". Not the most eye-grabbing title, but I'm not buying it for the title, yah? Ah, well. Looks like I haven't found my answers yet. The Bloggeration endures. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
