Ashley Ream Dispatches from the City of Angels I'm a writer and humorist living in and writing about Los Angeles. You can catch my novel LOSING CLEMENTINE out March 6 from William Morrow. In the meantime, feel free to poke around. Over at my website you can find even more blog entries than I could fit here, as well as a few other ramblings. Enjoy and come back often. |

2007-11-13 9:15 AM Wear your heart on your boobs My friend who works on "The Office" probably just lost her job.
T.V. networks are trying to get the Writers Guild to accept unfair terms by yanking contracts and jobs from non-writers. It's a win-win for them. They save money on salaries AND stir up unrest between colleagues. It's a no-good, rotten, back-stabbing, coward's way to negotiate. And some members of the Guild are hitting back. You can go to www.strikeswag.com and buy t-shirts, tank tops and bracelets with strike slogans. All proceeds go to non-writers whose jobs have been effected by the strike. I bought myself a brand-spanking new t-shirt. I hope you will, too. And I hope my friend gets her job back. And I hope the writers get the contract they deserve. And I don't think those things are mutually exclusive. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
