Ashley Ream Dispatches from the City of Angels I'm a writer and humorist living in and writing about Los Angeles. You can catch my novel LOSING CLEMENTINE out March 6 from William Morrow. In the meantime, feel free to poke around. Over at my website you can find even more blog entries than I could fit here, as well as a few other ramblings. Enjoy and come back often. |

2009-05-20 3:22 PM I'm not offering to provide that service to Mr. Bezos, just so we're clear If you are a blogger, you can now sign a deal with Amazon.com to distribute your blog for sale on the Kindle e-reader for a 30/70 percent split of the profits, the thirty going to the blogger, of course. A number of bloggers are irate at what they see as a wildly inequitable profit margin.
I don't really see this particular debate relating to me. If you owned Boing Boing or Dooce.com, then you could be talking money. I'm nowhere near popular enough to care nor do I understand why someone would pay to read a blog on their Kindle that they could read online for free. But here's the thing. As an author, I can assure you that any novelist on earth would get down on their knees and blow Jeff Bezos like he was candy flavored for a 30% share of the cover price of their books. So just this once, I'm not whining. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
