Last night at my niece's birthday party I offered to make a second pot of coffee. I had to ask where everything was because this was a relative of a relative's house. I was afraid no one would drink it because my sister said the party was to end soon. What a silly thing to be afraid of. Everyone drank it, the party went on longer than I was made to believe, I ate the cake, I played with kids and birthday presents even though my three were not there, and I returned home feeling happy with myself, in part because I didn't have to poop at their house like I usually do.

Papa brought the kids home from their sleep over and I've got to go to Target to spend my birthday fortune on new slippers, a filing cabinet for the things I'd better hang onto, and more diapers. For anyone who cares, Target wipes are excellent but I wouldn't buy their diapers again. With two in diapers, I've become an expert, and Pampers Cruisers or Luvs one size bigger than the Pampers work well.

Later I have to write a paper for school on accountability. It is a case study where an office manager is called into her boss' office for a quick meeting. He is unorganized and takes care of many other tasks while she sits sulking. She has a problem with her wasted time.

It reminds me of standing in line at the post office or the license bureau. The government could help Americans use the time wisely. It could hang a t.v. set in the corner and show a program about the Constitution or something. Or it could hang artwork. Real artwork. Or put a little electric waterfall nearby.

Or we could just be free to do whatever we like, like meditate or read a book...or sulk.
