The other day, when I was turning off my sister's street to drive home, a black cat thought better than to cross my path. That's right. He stopped dead in his own swift tracks to turn around and head the other direction. I thought I was pretty cool ... but now that I think about it, he actually had a scared look on his face ....

How come when a cat crosses my path it's almost always black? I think maybe once a calico cat crossed my path. The rest of the times, any season, any time of day, any town, they've been black cats. When crossed by one black cat, the next cat crossing cancels out the last one. I made that up a long time ago. I had to.

Am I the only one?
