2007-09-20 10:18 AM Making less sense than Gidget Previous Entry :: Next Entry Read/Post Comments (2) There is no truth to be had down here, among the thinking living, without being a conformist. I could theorize why people do this or that, but I'd only be recycling pieces of memories and existing pathways to existing truths. If I pulled a convincing new idea out of my butt and sold it well what have we? -A truth to conform to, like humor teaches us. And we use all these new truths to get at our inner selves. New enlivens the spirit then becomes old and kills us until the next novel idea.
Except if it's Gidget's. Why the hell would I care what Gidget thinks about current events? Like all celebrities, she sold her soul to entertain us and make lots of money doing so. These famous faces are the biggest nobodies. We own you, Gidget. We think that your public opinion is just acting. If an Emmy fan stood up and said what Gidget did I'd feel something. I'd feel the supposed freedom of this country ringing. Only, we are made to believe that the offering of freedom is something other than our own new truths. Freedom has been redefined by the agent of conformity, our government. You know, we are much easier to lead if we all agree. This country is run by mothers, as a matter of fact. We are, after all, raising the children, although some of us work now and put the kids in daycare. Is Gidget saying moms shouldn't work? I personally do enough already and don't need another responsibility of running the country. How about if Buddhists run this country? I think that'd be a good idea. Good ideas, truths, come from God, not from government or Sally Field. Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
