Just to clear the air

... He TOLD me ahead of time he'd be drinking while I worked last night.

The air feel cleared?

Not to me either.

I was sort of OK with it--he's a big boy--but I asked him not to be drunk, or at least I didn't care to see it.

Strike One: His drinking made him delusional and he "started with me" about something insane while I was at work.

Strike Two: He called back and asked me to buy him more beer. Loser.

Strike Three: He was quite drunk when I got home.

Then ...

Strike One: He hadn't washed the dishes, which he normally would have and there were a lot.

Strike Two: He didn't take out the garbage. Again, a usual task for him.

Strike Three: He "misunderstood" my choice to not hang out with him in that state and wanted to argue about it.

Yeah, that's two strike-outs in a row.

I called his dad and he's planning to give him a piece of his mind today. I sort of feel bad about it, but my husband has the potential to fall off the deep end and his dad would play stand-in dad to my kids should it happen. He rather likes being their grandpa, and is just as sick of all this as I am.

Then I told the drunk off. Pretty civilly, but still. I told him how it is, boy. I'm sure it would have made an impact if he had been awake to hear it.

So, the air is quite thick today. Sucky.
