I was the mom helper. Thankfully there were no 'ewww, Woyd's!' in reference to his sound effects. Instead there was an enthralled group of little girls watching him piece together plastic pipes for show-'n-tell. He made them a telescope, a square, and a thingy you had to wind to turn on. Ya know, the basic pipe-fittings. He let the girls sample the collection and dream up their own ideas. Mary made a video camera. She taped her favorite animal: a panda. She made me hold it. She made me talk it. She made me watch it back.

Lloyd asked to paint but I was unsure because tomorrow is open-house and parents just cleaned the room over the weekend. Teacher said it was fine. Lloyd wanted the squeeze bottle of paint instead of the watercolor discs already set out. Teacher said fine. Next thing I know, Maya, Georgia, and he are making hand prints and me a little nervous about the mess. Teacher said fine. And the three of them ended up making a wonderful display of artwork for open-house, teacher and I agreed.

I asked the kids to guess what Lloyd brought for snack. Isabella said broccoli and I said she was right! I've never seen the group look so worried. Just kidding! I told Isabella she was funny though.

The chairperson-mom came in the room after class to ask if I-
"No!" I interrupted. "I don't want your position next year." I am a mom that will be with the school for several years so a bit more attractive for the part than other moms or dads. Heh. Good idea. I should sign my husband up. I told her I would give it some thought. I mean, it can't be as bad as being Treasurer.
