Karl Rove illegally claims two homestead exemptions, one in Washington D.C. and one in Texas [1]. While Mr. Rove apparently remains free of any legal problems the lawyer from Texas Secretary of State's office (who has "raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Republicans, including President Bush") who was quoted noting the illegality of this is fired [2]. Is it just me or does the long arm of the law seem to have targeted the wrong person? [1] Rove Not Entitled to D.C. Homestead Deduction, Lori Montgomery Washington Post, Saturday, September 3, 2005.
