Dear Diary,

The days have been hot but not sweltering.

I have a new bathroom but the damn thing is so small I can't exactly have a party in there.

I think I forgot to give my cat water this morning.

Yesterday was The Cure concert and I didn't go for the first time since 1996. Instead I gathered with a couple of fellow Cure dorks (not in the bathroom) and watched a concert video from 1986.

I was recently told that my blog is "mostly videos now." I guess this renders that statement false.*

For some reason I find myself leaving comments on Metallica's YouTube videos. The latest is for a video of a Lars Ulrich drum solo. It reads:
The problem here isn't that Lars is a bad drummer, or even that this is a particularly bad solo. The problem is that Lars shouldn't be playing solos to begin with. Lars was always a solid, "good enough" drummer who relied on instinct, not technical skill to get him through. With these limitations, his band made some of the best metal albums of all time. This solo, however, is indicative of Metallica's post-1990 megalomania and Lars' desire to be center stage, regardless of how much it sucks.
I'm really not sure why I do this.

Bunnies are cute and I would probably get one for someone if she really, really wanted it.

Good talks with best friends make for even bester friendships.

I think tonight we'll finally stop missing what was supposed to be yesterday and likely enjoy what we're looking forward to tomorrow.

*Damn.
