2004-02-18 10:06 PM Precocious? My youngest daughter received her SAT scores today. They were very good. On the verbal part of the test, she got a score of 660, in the 91st percentile of college-bound seniors. On the Math she got a 630, in the 81st percentile of college-bound seniors. Total score, a very respectable 1290.
But my daughter is not a college-bound senior. She's a 13-year-old, only in seventh grade, taking the SAT as part of a talent identification program. These SAT scores are exceptional for her age. In the Geometry portion of the Math, she scored in the 75th percentile, even though she has not taken Geometry in school yet. That's right, she scored better than three out of four college-bound high school seniors in a subject she hasn't even seen. So, is my daughter really all that ahead of her time? Well, maybe. To celebrate her achievement, our family went out to a favorite restaurant for dinner earlier this evening.
