Plain Banter . . . lies about science fiction, and everything else. When the writer becomes the center of his attention, he becomes a nudnik. And a nudnik who believes he's profound is even worse than just a plain nudnik. -- Isaac Bashevis Singer |

2005-06-05 2:00 PM Buzz Buzz There's some good buzz, apparently, for my story "In The Loop" in the July/August issue of Analog that's on sale now. I say "apparently" because I haven't actually seen Rich Horton's review in Locus yet, but in their latest online catalogging of
new magazines, there's the line, "Rich Horton reviews this issue in the upcoming July issue of Locus Magazine, commenting on the stories by Brian Plante and Stephen Baxter." That's usually a pretty good sign, as he doesn't often bother discussing a story that didn't measure up. Meanwhile over at SFRevu, Sam Tomaino writes, "Most of the stories [in this issue] get my very good rating with only a few a little less than that. There is, however, one exceptional story. 'In the Loop' by Brian Plante . . . ." So, I guess that's a "best in issue" nod, presuming "exceptional" is used in the positive sense.
