2004-10-27 4:42 PM Would Bill Clinton be electable? (Part 1) Okay, put aside any constitutional impediments for a moment.
Would Bill Clinton be electable? Where did this "what-if" come from? One of my sons argued last night that William J. Clinton's approval rating in the public's imagination would mean that he would be the one elected if he were standing against George W Bush instead of John F. Kerry. He argued that Clinton fixed the economy and left it in a good state, that he is lavished with praise by the public when he makes appearances, and is 'liked' in the media, etc. So, I asked my son to put up the case in between 150 and 400 words. He has end-of-year exams on, and said he didn't have time to research the figures he'd want to use, so he may do it after the US presidential election. Meanwhile, Clinton's "electability" (v Kerry's) is an interesting point for consideration. _____ Peter Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
