2005-07-16 4:40 PM Is my son Harry Potter or the Half-Blood Prince? My son, Dave, is a writer. He's studying creative writing at the University of Canberra. (Put away that fact, and the assumptions flowing from it about my age, for a later date.)
Today, he lined up at the apponted "witching hour" to get his pre-paid copy of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince from a local bookshop. He says that, in retrospect, he need not have done it that way, as the lines were longer for the pre-paid than for the walk-ins. (Put that away for comparison purposes, too.) The funny thing is that he met three other people there for the same purpose, and now has a photograph of the four of them that will probably be a better momento than the book itself. Anyway, back to the story.... My prince (son) has had almost 7 hours of reading Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince so far, that I can account for, and has read just over half the book. His blood is still running true! That must make him Harry Potter rather than the Half-Blood Prince. I expect that he will not be visiting his girl friend this evening, in order to finish it in one blow. Then again, he's thoroughly hen-pecked, so she might just win the day (well, evening) after all. :-) _____ Peter Read/Post Comments (2) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
