2007-07-12 7:54 AM Kate of the Internet Canberra is the site of the Federal Parliament of Australia. We locals get to elect two Senators and two members of the House of Representatives.
I have a passing acquaintance with a recently former Senator, Margaret Reid, and I have also run into Senator Kate Lundy on a few occasions. I just saw Kate in the airport here in Adelaide. She is "anonymous"; certainly memorable, but not someone with a 'look' that makes you know her instantly and who becomes the centre of attention as a result, so she can "blend in" and do normal things. She is an Opposition spokesperson on "technology" and the internet, among various other things. (She is Shadow Minister for "Local Government", & "Sport, Recreation and Health Promotion".) Here are her three official web sites: Parliament & personal & blog. She certainly used to hand-code her personal web page, and reportedly still has at least a big hand in it. I'll let you make your own judgements. _____ Peter Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
