2007-10-21 5:02 PM Bartlet v Ritchie, it is not Bartlet v Ritchie, it is not.
Tonight is probably the only Presidential Debate of the Australian federal election of 2007. Notice that my tongue is firmly in my cheek. Australia's system of government is parliamentary. Our Constitution does not even mention the Prime Minister (the so-called 'Head of Government') let along a more central president. Yet, the current and 'pretend' Prime Ministers will be debating on television tonight, Sunday 21 October 2007. Notice the similarity of the dates with The West Wing, that had its 'presidential' debate on 23 October 2002. 5 years later, almost to the day. Oh, if only. Then, this writer would have all sorts of excuses to stay up **really** late at night and go through the videos frame-by-frame for analogies and similarities. Instead, I might go to bed early, and let the pundits and journalists do the analysis. I might! _____ Peter Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
