In the last two days there have been two earthquakes in the vicinity of the northern edge of the tectonic plate carrying Australia, that is north-east at about 67mm (~2.5")/year. * under water, south of Bali, Indonesia: 6.1 magnitude (causing some damage) * under water, off the north coast of Papua New Guinea: 6.7 magnitude But, there are lots of other shakes (see the map) every day. _____ Peter Read/Post Comments (0) Previous Entry :: Next Entry Back to Top |
