I hate SUndays at work... Being a manager at a fast food joint is hard enough, but to try it on a Sunday....the worst. It is the hardest day to staff. A manager higher than me on the food chain left me once again with stuff she should have completed. She counted several registers for me, which was nice...she did not "coin 'em up" however, as that would have meant opening a fresh bag of coins, and making a deposit to the bank for that bag. So, 5 drawers were not ready to go, as I had to put rolled coins in them, making them usable. Maybe I am anal, but if they are not ready to go, then why bother? A customer wanted me to "buy back" his entire order, because we missed one sandwich. Now he wasn't going to give me back the rest of the food, he just wanted all of his money back, based on the receipt. Said if he walked behind the counter, and took two hamgurgers, and walked out, I would consider it stealing, yet when he pays for 5 sandwiches, and gets only 4, I am really "stealing" from him. He demands that I give him full payment for all of his food.....yeah...right.... I answer the phone this afternoon. I hear boys giggling in the background right away. The caller tells me that he/she (says it is a mother, yet it sounded like a pre-pubescent boy) that "my son has just eaten a hamburger from there, and has died!" I say, "I am so sorry to hear that, did you call 911?" in which the reply was, "this is not funny, my son is dead!". I say then, "I will be expecting the officials to come in with loads of paperwork for me. Again, I am sorry to hear your son died, that is awful". Again, he/she replies, "this is not funny", I say "I am not laughing, I should not be taking your time, while you need to make arrangements"...He finally broke, and laughed and hung up on me. idiot. It was nice riding the motorcycle home from work, and blowing this all out of my head. Now, I am on vacation for a week...YAY! |
