Nothing too out of the ordinary happened at work today. I was down a shift (Ruben called in sick), but I didn't replace much of it, as I felt I could handle it without. I was right, of course. My shifts seem to run just fine when I am the only manager there, it is when someone else is there, second guessing my decisions that it all goes to hell in a hand basket. B was there for most of the day, yet she has been really nice to me lately. She seems to think I can do amazing things in a small amount of time, which is untrue. She covered for me, and asked me to go clean out the birthday party closet, as she purchased the storage bins that I had requested. I came back to get some more cleaning supplies, and she said, "Wow, you are done already, good, take your break"...huh?..."ummmmm, I am not finished yet, I will need some more time, I have stuff spread out over half of the lobby."..."oh" It is looking bettter now, but please... I got home around 7:30, thinking I was going to turn some leftover porkchops into sweet and sour pork, when the smell of that very dish hit me as I opened the door. Caitlyn made that for dinner, apparently we think the same thing with those leftovers. I was so hungry, I scarfed it down. I think dinner always tastes better when I am not the one doing the cooking. Mike had a short day at work, and he came home and washed the dishes. I am a very lucky woman today! As I sit here, I am printing 20 of Kay's wedding programs. My poor old printer would die for sure if I tried to do all 100 in one sitting. Since I am trying to baby that thing, I am not using the two-sided print option. I think that may be too mechanical for it. I will do one side at a time, then flip the page, and run it back through. I might get both sides of the white paper done tonight, well 20 of them...I will save the red page for last, as there is only one column, on one side....save the easy for last and it won't be so tedious. Since I am new to this blog stuff, I don't know how to include a photo of the invitations I made, or these programs. Maybe someone can help me with that task? I see my "curiosities served" counter gets a lot of daily hits...help me, please? My printer has now printed 22 copies, and I asked for 20...I don't know if I should just let it keep going, since I will need 100, or stop the darn thing, so It can take a break. It did this to me one other time, too, and I had go cancel the print, numberous times. Myabe I should just shoot it, and break down and get a new one for this. ugh...I don't have the money for that! |
