I spent the day with my granddaughter today. She was alseep when I arrived, and her mom left for work before she awoke. I was able to relax and read the newspaper I brought, before she stirred. Since she had been asleep since 8:00 the night before, her diaper was quite soaked. It also contained the first special little poop nugget of the day. Little did I know then that I would be digging for them the rest of the day. I fed her breakfast of brown rice and squash, and got her dressed for our outing. I am working on those darned programs, and my old-school Fiskars cutter isn't working out as well as I had expected. Seems the bar on it is not straight, and when I use a scoring blade, to fold the pages, they are not square. Since I have both a Michael's and a JoAnn's 50% off coupon in my pocket, I went to see what they had as options. I grabbed the keys from the hook, and locked the door. I then realised that this set of keys said "garage" on them, and I was indeed locked out. Guess we will stop and see her mother, and use her key to get back in. After JoAnn's, I went to a Costco business center, to see if they might carry those cutters, and had no luck at that, but....Sally, you will be so proud of me...I looked at the printers. They had a HP printer/scanner/fax with an instant rebate of $50. That brought the price down to $139, and it is much more of a machine than I ever imagined. After talking to Mike, and actually leaving that store, I bought the darned thing at the regular Costco. I stopped by my house, to drop it off so Mike could get it set up before I got home, and Aurelia was fast asleep, so we just stayed here for a while. We then went back to JoAnn's, and bought the new Fiskars Cutter, with the coupon, and headed back to the condo. She ate a lunch of avacados and yogurt, and then a bottle of formula, and I thought she would be out like a trout in her own bed, but nooooooo.....she wanted to play, so we played for quite a while. She then got a bit fussy, so I changed yet another poopy diaper (there was one at my house, too) She refused to sleep, so I fed her again, and that was when she started fading to the point of sleeping in her chair. I took a few pictures, and cleaned her up. I changed yet one more poopy diaper for a total of four today. Holy cow, that kid can crap! I put her in her crib and she zonked out fast. Her dad came home, so I was free to go. Mike had the printer hooked up, and it is capable of printing a much better quality, and at an insane speed. I am done with the interior page, both sides, and have only the easy, outside cover page to print. I think that will happen before I go to bed. It took about twenty minutes to print one side of twenty pages on the other printer. amazing...and the cutter is working out well, too...good thing Kay doesn't want gifts at her wedding, 'cuz I spent my money on myself today! |
