I had to work 11-7 today. Since Caitlyn is still on her Disney Bahama Cruise, I have to tend to the dog before I leave home. I do not want to come home to find she could not "hold it" all day. A 75 pound dog can produce a lot of poop. ewwwwwww Anyway, Mickey (named for Mantle, not the Mouse)is on Caitlyns schedule...sleep in until noon, then get out of bed. Spend some time lounging around prior to stepping out in the cold weather to releive herself. This is not what I had in mind at all. I want her to get out, and back in, so I can leave. This morning though...She was wandering around, wanting to go hide in the back bathroom, coming back out here, checking to see what I was doing, going back to the bathroom, and around again. Huh? Are you kidding me? She is terrified of thunder, fireworks, and that sort of stuff. I know she can hear better than I can, but I didn't hear a thing. Yet, still, she was freaking out. She locked herself in the bathroom, by crawling behind the door, and shutting it. I took a shower back there, with her in the room. Then she wanted out, then back in, then out, then back in...omg...let me get dressed! I went outside with her, and threw a ball, and she of course forgot all about being frightened, and got the ball, then peed, then raced to the door. Game over. Back in the house, she wanted back into the bathroom. So, since she heard something, I barricaded the window in there, to dampen any outside noise, and turned the radio on. I left the toilet lid up, so she had access to fresh water, if she locked herself in again, and I went to work. I chose not to dope her up on the meds we give her, as I didn't know why she went off this morning. I sent a text to my daughter Brittany, and asked her to stop by today if she could. She said either she, or Ryan, her boyfriend would. I see signs someone came by (TV was on MTV) but Mickey survived, and seems fine this evening. Go figure...I think she just misses Caitlyn...couple more days. It has been quiet around here. |
