First thing when I got to the Thomas Lake store this morning, they tell me that I will be into overtime before the end of my shift, so I am going home early. That is fine with me, I am so tired from staying up late, and losing an hour sleep. Nancy donated two uniform shirts to me, and I took them home. It will be nice to not have to wash them every three work days, I can go five, since I have extra pants. Thanks Nancy! It was nice to see the crew I have known for years. Each of them met me with a big hug, and one of them even called her husband for him to bring the new baby and the first grader in to see me. That was kind of neat...I miss the "family" part of work, I don't have that at my current store. One of TL's newest crew members has an usual name, and I recognized it last week, seeing her on the schedule, but I thought it had been too long, this cannot be the same person. I had to wait until today to answer that question, and it was indeed an old friend from the mid-nineties. We caught up quite a bit, and worked very well together today. Got to see EJ, and worked with CR this morning. I really had a good time, I wish I could go back to this store. Perhaps all the chips will fall into place one day for that to happen. The store is struggling right now, and I know I could help shore it up. I did forget about my time with Shannon yesterday afternoon, I am sorry Shannon! We have a standing date every 3 weeks or so to get our nails done. She is always trying to get me to do some type of theme color for the time of year, when I usually take my own color in, so I can cover up the chips before I go again. This time however, I chose a shamrock milkshake green, with sparkles. I got a lot of laughs with it today...it was fun. I don't know how to insert a link, so go watch this clip anyway...it is worth the few minutes of your life. Shannon and I can repeat it word for word, and it makes us tear up laughing so hard. When we worked together, we had to just post it, so everyone at work would understand what was so funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SsWrY77o77o This is acutally what happens each visit we go there. We make jokes about it, mimiking Anjela and cracking us up. Our discussion while getting our nails done keeps them in stitches, and I told them they should pay us for the entertainment value we offer. Shannon says her nail, "do like that"...too funny...She was telling me how her "blow and go" works, and we were laughing, and then they start chatting amongst themselves, and we stopped, and looked at them, and one says that "Annie says she go wif you, and bwow fow you...she need pwactice" We nearly fell our of our chairs laughing WITH them. They get excited to see us come in. "you got boyfwiend?"..."just five dollaws mow" Thoughts dinner was chicken spaghetti, with garlic bread. I had a big glass of milk, that must mean I am feeling better, not so snotty. YAY! |
