For the third consecutive day, we have had snow. We have had more snow this winter, than any I can remember in this area for the 24 years I have lived here. I am sick of it all. I want spring more than I have ever wanted anything in my entire life. I was so cold today, I just wanted to come home, and get into my sweats and booties, and do nothing. Not what I did exactly, but close.

My day at work was a little eventful. First, I was a little upset with one of our kitchen staff. This woman thinks that if it weren't for her, we would have to close the doors. I wanted to put her head into a vat. I made a request for more pies to be baked. A simple request, I do it throughout each day. She answers me that she just sent some pies up, and that I didn't need any more. I repeat, we need some, and I would like 12 apple, and 4 cherry. At this same time, Maria tells me I need cookies also. Anabel then repeats to me, that she made pies, and sent them up. No more pies, okay, Chika? uummmm, notsomuch...I take a receipt paper, write on it, 12 apple, 4 cherry, 12 chocolate chip, 7 oatmeal. I hand it to Anabel, and say, I want all of this, right now. She says, okay, fine.

Thirty minutes later, I hear Maria telling a guest that we have no pies right now, they will be in the oven for a while longer. I stopped dead in my tracks. WHAT? 35+ minutes for a 10 minute baking process? I say no, that cannot be right, I will go get the pies. Sure enough, there I see all the cookies on the cooling racks, yet not a pie in sight. and guess who is on a break? Laura put some pies in real fast, and I grab my hand-written note, and go to the break room. I confront Anabel, and she says she was all alone in the kitchen, and could not do it. I simply walked away, knowing I wanted to hurt her. I went into the office, where Lily sat (that is what she does on Mondays) and tell her that me and Anabel are not getting along, and the whole story. I say that there was never less than 2 people there at any given moment this morning, and that the third one was doing dishes, or re-stocking, always someone to call on. I say she should have said at the time she needed help, and I would have sent one of my service people. She needs to believe me that I need things, and to stop the arguing with me.

I hear that Anabel went to Lily later over the same thing. Whatever, if she wants to be treated like a 12 year old, I can do that, it is just that we have have a fresh stack of applications each week. People that want to work, and putting little frozen pies into an oven really isn't too hard.

We have that girl that says I took the $20 out of her til last week working side by side with me all week, to see if she survives. Yeah, she was late today too, but she called ahead this time, and spoke with "B" about it. I still would not put money onto her being around too much longer.

In that area, we have about 2-3 inches of snow fall today. It was really coming down, for hours. One van coming thru the drive-thru had at least 5 inches piled on it. He says he was in Everett, at the Boeing plant all day. When it finally stopped (YAY!) it melted off the roof. I handed an order out the window, when right then, a block of snow/ice dropped off the building, and onto the top of the car. It splatted, and came right at me. A big snowball hit my forehead, knocked my glasses off, and went down my shirt, freezing my boobs. brrrrrrr....and OUCH! and I think I may have yelled shit! I didn't drop her food , and was able to recoop and hand it out, The lady was apologetic, wondering what had hit me. It wasn't you I said, it just scared the hell out of me. I have not been hit with a snowball to the face in well over thirty years.

While I was doing a few things in the office at the end of my shift, Zach started yelling, that his computer screen went black. I went and rebooted it, only for it to happen 3 more times in a span of 15 minutes. I called "B" at home, and she says I will have to call the SEI help desk. Great...that is 30 minutes of being on hold while they do a run down of our system, when I am so damn cold, I am wearing my biker chick gloves. Try using an adding machine with those on.

I get home, and put a huge pot of water on to boil before warming my sweats up in the dryer, Jumped into cozy warmth, and got some macaroni cooking. Thanks to the Scout the other day, I have been wanting mac and cheese, and todays weather was perfect for it. Caitlyn sees what I am up to, and volunteers to make it with me. cool...It was crunchy on top, and veltvety smooth inside. I added a pinch of chili flakes to heat it up a bit.
