It was rather difficult at work today. Both "B" and the Supervisor were there, all day long. This time, I was in a much better state of mind, and more prepared. The supe looked as if he was doing another SOR (Surprise Operations Review), yet it turned out he was doing a cleanliness audit. I still brown nosed a bit, and my score would have been much higher than last weeks. I showed both of them the broken hinge that I took off the freezer on Friday, and why, and how, and all that. It was the first either of them heard that story, and they were both somewhat impressed with my skills. Yeah, then later I was feeling as if they both were looking for things to write me up over.

We had two people not show up for shifts today, one has not shown up all week, and we are terminating his employment, the other had called in sick. Such is my life, I can handle being short staffed. What I don't like about it is having the store manager and her boss there, wondering why I don't have a second window person, or a full time fry person, or whatever. Yeah, it is harder when you still need to get breaks out.

I had the fraggle rock lady working with me (she was again late, with yet another excuse). I had her working a window all day, so I could hear her mess up the orders at times. Then, a little boy came in a saved my whole day. Out of the mouths of babes...What a great kid, I hope I see him again.

His mother states that he would like a girls toy. I have Derrick working, and he got excited and whispers to me. "Welcome to my club, little boy!" We walk away, and I tell him a story that happened when I was working at the TL store a few years back. A mom tells me, "this toy is too scary for my son, Can he have one of the girls toy, instead, please?" I give him a Madame Alexander boy doll, and all was fine, except when Jake (rest his soul) tells me, "give that to the little bitch"...So, back to today, this little kid (we are guessing he is 7 or 8) is really wanting the frog from the Pet Shop toys, instead of Superman, and he gets that. Fraggle Rock girl is helping them, and he then tells her, "I really like your make-up! I like the way your draw on your eyebrowns!" At this point, my back is to the front counter, pouring moms coffee, and I start chuckling, to the point that I cannot stop. Tears are starting to flow, and I don't want mom knowing I am laughing, when I see that both Derrick and Krystina are in the same predicament that I am in. He says to her, "did you hear that?", and we all start laughing harder, making this near impossible not to disguise. I make a getaway, and they both follow me towards the back room. Derrick then raises his arms, and shouts, "He IS gay! Come back when you are 18, and I will help you with all your questions, I can be your mentor, we can be best girlfriends! Isn't it great that he knows already, and his mom is comfortable with it?"

If it were all that simple...

Dinner was the other half of the lobster ravioli pack, with alfredo sauce. I need some pineapple for sweet and sour pork tomorrow...think I will remember?
