Wow...A lot has happened since I posted yesterday... Mike and I grabbed take-out and went to the condo to babysit, so Alisha and Chris could go out for his birthday dinner. Chris had taken a nap after work, as the chemo wears him out pretty good. They went to dinner, and had permission from us to stay out a bit later if he felt up to it. We brought a few movies, knowing full well were there for a while. We both changed into sweats and booties, and settled in with Aurelia. She went down for good around 10:00, and we never heard a whimper out of her. I made some popcorn (yes, from unpopped kernels in a pan on the stove, with a light dusting of real butter)and we watched "Seven Pounds". This brought us to about 1:00am, and we were both very groggy. I read the last few chapters of my book, and Mike flipped through the limited channels. They made it home around 2:30 to find both of us laying on the couch, looking like zombies. Chris was totally surprised, he had no knowledge of this party in the least! ALisha had rented the indoor soccer arena, and invited everyone they knew. (there were just over 400 guests at their wedding)...Said they had about 50 or so turn out, and the soccer place told them they could have the place all night if they wanted. Since she had to get up and go to work, that wasn't going to work out too well for her, but they did have a great time, staying an hour or so later than planned. Mike and I made it home somewhat safe...other than the spider dropping down off the windsheild onto the steering wheel while we were traveling at 60mph....thank God he was driving, I am sure that woulnd have been more important than my overall safety at that point in my sleepiness. He just reach up and clapped it dead with both hands....men I set my phone to silent, and was out before I hit the pillow. He said he had a hard time getting to sleep, since I was sleeping so well, and I usually read for an hour while he sleeps. zzzzzzzzzzz....oh well for him. I woke up at 10:30 and got into the shower. we left the house around 1:00 for a motorcycle ride. We went on a lot of Snohomish County backroads, circling around, this way and that. Still trying to work out the bugs with the helmet to helmet communication thing. I like listening to music while I ride, using my MP3 player on my cell phone. He is liking the FM radio that is embedded in the system. I never used the bluetooth part of the phone before, and with the voice-activation to boot. and really, it isn't my fault that Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody comes on and I sing it pretty loud, making the voice activation part come on, and he has to endure that....ummmmm...sorry honey I made it to my meet up with Shannon for our nails. She was supposed to come here for the evening tonight, but forgot it was her other friends birthday. I got dumped...hehehe...we had a good time, as always getting the nails. I pointed out a paper cut on my finger to Abby, and she asked if I wanted her to make it bigger. Everyone is a comedian...ummm...no, I want you to not hurt me there. She of course, hurt me everywhere else, but was careful around that. Dinner was turning a few leftovers into sweet and sour beef stuff, over rice, with garlic green beans. It was okay...still learing to like fresh green beans, but I am trying. ooooooooo....basketball is now down to the final two teams for the championship game Monday night! North Carolina vs Michigan State...I highly doubt more that 100 people nationwide, outside of Michigan State itself had Michigan St in that game...I know I didn't. GO TARHEELS! |
