Working without the scrutiny of someone over your shoulders every minute of every day is blissful. I am loving every minute of this. The days are going so well, that I really think we should all chip in, and extend "B"'s vacation another week or two. There is a silence and calmness over everyone, from managers to crew. We are all in such a good mood, we cannot stop smiling. Nothing got me riled today, not even when the grumpy old man came in, and ordered 7 doubles, 7 nuggets, and 7 fries. I packed every item into his bags, and gave them to him. He came back moments later (in the drive thru this time) saying I missed 2 doubles, and 1 nugget...yeah, and cows fly out of my ass...but, what did I do? I said to him I packed those myself, and they were all there. He shoved a bag at me, and it did have only 5 doubles in it. Knowing for a fact he moved two of them, I politely asked him to park in the standby area, and I would bring out his missing items. He did, and I did. I said not one word to him, even when he said thank you ma'am...whatever, It will be his karma coming back to him. Not even things like that can get me down this week. Even when I got to work, and the rootbeer was out, and the multi-plex was spitting and sputtering. I know that thing will break if left on empty too long. The "L" twin didn't care about it, and she is higher on the ladder than I am. They both told me that they had called two other stores asking if we could borrow Dr Pepper...WHATWHAT?? What the hell does Dr Pepper have to do with rootbeer? How will that help our situation? I called and found some rootbeer, and sent a guy to get it within 20 minutes. Even thought ahead to get enough sugar to get the sweet tea to last through the whole day. My dear freind Etta keeps calling me. I told her to start reading this silly thing to keep up with me. If I start writing about her then she will figure this out. (Hi Etta!) I am reading Janet Evonovich's Two For the Dough. It is a first printing, and the font is so small I am having problems seeing it. Guess I need the Readers Digest BIG PRINT these days. I got home and started watching UNC hammer Michigan State. That game was a bit underwhelming, so we flipped back and forth to Mariner Baseball. Ken Griffey Jr hit a home run in game one of the season, and we won. (YAY!!, we are OVER 500! Might be the only time in '09!) I LOVE Jr, I hope he is what the team needed, both in the clubhouse, and in the line-up. He is more of a senior than a junior these days, but, he will get my ass in a seat more than once this year, and I only made it to one game last year. That doubles attendance already! We called out for pizza delivery tonight. Everyone needs a Pagliacci every once in a while. I wore my summer jacket today. Nothing like bright pink to get double takes. It felt good to not be so bundled up that it is hard to turn your head... |
