A little background...

I have done this same job for a number of years. I was fired last July, based on this:

On a Monday, "B" sits me down, and says since I was rude to a customer over the phone, I am being 'written up', and since this is my second warning (WTF? I was NEVER given a 'first' warning) upon my next offense in the next twelve months, I will be terminated. That caller was upset because we missed a one dollar chicken sandwich on his order. I apologized, asking him come in a get a free meal. He doesn't live in the area, won't be back near here. I say that is okay, let me know his name, I will write in in the book. He gives me a name, then says that name was the driver of the car. I say that is okay, who will be coming? I get a run around, and BS to deal with. I finally was frustrated and asked him if he would like me to mail the chicken sandwich to him. oops...wrong thing to say, but he was a fkn ass.

Anyway, I had a couple days off, and B had a day off and we were to work together on the following Friday. On Thursday night, one of the managers calls me, and asks why I am not on the schedule over the weekend. I say that can only mean she found another offense to throw at me, which she did...one of the crews mothers had called at fkn noon to say her kid would not be there to work at 1:00, she was sick. I tell her our policy is for the crew to do the calling, and we need at least 2 hours notice. Anyway, that had happened 3 weeks prior to that second offense, but that Friday, I was fired for my three offenses. Whatever...the unemployment office agreed with me that the whole thing was ridiculous, and so did the owner of the store. She asked if I would consider working for her again, which I said yes, but I really didn't want to work with B again. I had a month off, with pay, and returned to work on September first. then...B was transferred to my new store, and I have been in hell since December.
If you read this silly thing regularly, you know I constantly bicker with the other managers. I have never really fit in here, and with B it is worse. They asked if I would transfer to the Monroe location, but that is a long ways to go for my job. Last Friday, I got word that my original location was going through some phases, changing of the guard, new store manager stuff, and they will be promoting a guy I love into the store manager position. He said yes to doing it, provided he can have one manager from another store, of his choice. He chose me, and I start on May 4th back at that store.

I am elated! That store is smaller, maybe not as well maintained, has a few more opportunites, and a management staff that is excited to have me back. They keep calling or texting me how glad they are. It makes me feel great, I haven't had that in a while.

Working with B the other day, I had a list of questions written for her about a project I am in charge of. She says to me, "What does it matter, you are only here for two more weeks anyway"....I turned and walked away...whatever. Today, she asked me if the other store has my vacation dates for May. I said they were aware I had a week coming up, and she reiterated, do they know the exact dates? I said I wasn't too sure, and she said she would take care of it. I am telling you, I have never seen her so happy to talk to me, or to the point she cannot wipe that smile off her face. She seems beside herself with glee talking to me about my departure. Sentiments that I share...

I sent a text message to every crew member that is on my phone. the kids are not happy, but I wanted them to hear it from me, not through the grapevine. I saved one responce on my phone so I can't delete it...it says, word for word:
OMG :( that sucks peggy WTF whose gunna be the cool manager?

At least I made an impact on the crew...

Dinner was another BBQ by Mike. I love that man.
