I really don't know when I am supposed to rest my weary body...
The plan today was to take AW for a ride on the Shadow. Her man, Dan decided to stay home, because his speedometer cable broke, and he didn't want to risk a speeding ticket. (not that I blame him) It would have been nice to ride with him, but next time.

AW straddled the Shadow, a bit timid of not being flat-footed on both sides. She said she was okay, so we took off to start our adventure. On our way to the country roads, we had to stop at the top of a hill. I was to her left, and Mike had proceeded through the intersection. Much like a clutch on a car, she found it difficult to get it going. Totally unfamiliar with the clutch, she struggled a bit. Turned out all was cool, and we got going again, hoping her confidence would build.

We stopped in a big empty parking lot to practice the hills then started off on the ride. Mike and I were using the helmet to helmet communication system, and were looking at a black ominus cloud. Seems that thing was chasing us, and dumped its load right on our path. Great...This poor girl is on a bike she is unfamiliar with, I am in my mesh jacket (and soaked to the skin), and we can't even enjoy the ride, because we don't want to die...ugh.

We made our way to I-5, and headed south, to home. Parted ways with her, and loaded into the Jeep for Aurelia's birthday party at the other grandmas. Traffic was backed up ferocious, either due to the tulips, the outlet malls, or that same cloud. We were late to the party, but didn't miss too much. Alisha had a big spread set out, and we feasted.

On the way home, Mike handed me the keys (WTF?) so I turned north, instead of south, and we ended up where I wanted to go...to see the tulips. All the years living here, and I had never seen them in full bloom. It was pretty late in the day being 6pm, but I figured we would have great parking, and still 2 hours of good sunlight. Not like I needed to see every tulip in the county, just one field would do me. We stopped at the SnowGoose Produce stand, got my Indian Candy (Smoked Salmon Strips), and went on our way.

Parking was $4, if you parked a mile away, on in the damn field...I chose the field, and we took a short walk. I bought some tulips, and we were back on our way.

I didnt want to think about anything for dinner at home, so we stopped at the new Carl's Junior in Marysville. (Yeah, the only one we have in the entire area)...Those poor folks had no idea how to schedule for today, and were extremely short staffed. I felt for the manager, as he was doing his best. The garbage was overflowing onto the floor, and the live to the counter was long. It was moving fairly well, and when we got up there, the 16 year old girl said to the manger, "Can I have my break, I have been here since 4:30?" I looked at my phone for the time, and it was 6:52...We sat down, and I told Mike that if I was her manager, I would tell her that no one gets a break until the place is clean, and since she asked, she is at the back of the line. I am sure that 2 hours and 22 minutes she can wait a bit longer. Not like he wasn't trying...

Caught the tail end of the Mariner game, and the Seattle Sounder game. Both teams are far exceeding expectations this season. Abaout time Seattel sports fans had something to cheer about. Oh, and the NFL draft was today. We actually cought the Seahawks make their pick live on TV between the ride and the drive. Taking pick number four is grueling...hope it works out. hell, I don;t even remeber the kids name, but he is a linebacker from Wake Forest, I think...
