Today was my last day at my store. I will start the other one tomorrow afternoon, somewhat reluctantly. I have the stupid 1-9 shift, the one I really do not like, but I figure I may as well start there, as there will be no where to go but up. This place is crazy busy for the lunch hour, as it is set in the midst of an industrial park. Many of the warehouses get lunch breaks at noon, and they often have grand numbers for that one hour. I start just after that. No idea what I will be doing, hopefully I will be feeling my way around, learning where things are, and certain numbers for certain activities. I am sure it will all come to me quickly. I had a great day at work. When I arrived at nine am, they were very busy. We stayed that way through the breakfast hours, then it got to the point we could stay ahead of the game. I also added more crew, coupled with less customers, makes the day go easier. We were able to get things cleaned, stocked, and some much needed breaks out. CR stopped in for a while, to get things in line for his end of month inventories. I had not seen much of him while I was at his store, but we had a lot to talk about today. I wish him the best in all he does, he is a great guy. It was hard saying my goodbyes, so soon after the nice welcoming they gave me less than a month ago. Perhaps one day I will return, time will tell. I told CR that he needs to let me know when the store summer picnic will. I have a feeling that those 'higher-ups' will want me to be the manager that covers during that, I want to request it off asap, so I can attend instead. It is the very least they can do for me... We are currently babysitting Aurelia, while her parents are out to dinner downtown. I requested her stroller, and she is now in her PJ's, wrapped in a blankie, out for a walk with Mickey and Aunt Caitlyn. Hopefully she will be lulled to sleep and stay that way. (keeping my fingers crossed). It was another gorgeous day here in Seattle. I could get pretty darned spoiled with all of this. Mike BBQed chicken tonight, with some 'sweet mesquite' rub on it. It was very good... Oh, Christine sent a text to me, saying that the kid that I posted about, with the tattoo in the drive-thru, the one that I got all the gay guys staring at...he works with her. I can't wait to hear what he says about that fateful day. Please, oh please Christine, tell us about it! |
