I usually have every Saturday off from work. One of the other managers really wanted tomorrow off, and talked me into switching shifts with her. I figured that I do not go in on Sunday until 7pm, so I will have most of that day to go for a motorcycle ride, right? Seemed like a good idea at the time anyway. When I arrived at work today, I checked the schedule for next week, wanting very much to not see my name on it, as I should be working at the other location. I do not see my name, and that brings a smile to my face! YAY! What I do see, is that the Sunday evening shift, has been switched without my knowledge. It is now a 2pm-10pm shift, just like I am taking on for Saturday for Isabel. -deep sigh- Perhaps Mike and I can go for a short ride Saturday morning? Nope...he came home today, saying one of the machines had broke down for a while, and they just finally got it going. "yeah, so?" It means that he has to work on Saturday, to keep the place from getting backlooged iwth product. There are a lot of their customers that need the stuff delivered NOW....great...perhaps we should not temp fate, and just stay off the bikes this weekend...huh? Besides, I have not replaced my front tire that I damaged a couple of weeks ago. I finally showed it to Mike the other day, when I washed it. There is a tiny chunk of rubber missing, but he pointed out a bulge on the side, too. I had not noticed that. It probably is not worth my life riding that tire. I will just sit this weekend out, meaning I will not see the Vixens either. They have a great ride planned tomorrow, that I wanted to start out with them, even if I had to turn back early to get my butt to work. oh well... Tomorrow is Cindy's birthday. I called her a little bit ago, and she sent me a picture of flowers that she was given. They are beautiful! I asked her who she got those from, and her answer? "my wife"...I laughed and said, "Michele?" "Yes, of course, who else would do that for me?" Wish I was there to help her with her big fun plans...They ripped out carpet the other day, and have to do something to the sub-floor before putting down a replacement. They plan do rip the living room carpet out too, and the same to that floor. Not that the project sound fun, or easy, but those types of things are just the thing for family to help out with. My tomato plant is still thriving. The basil plant still looks good to me. Mike found one bag of my homemade sauce in the freezer, so he made slumgully with it and the leftover meatballs he had made the other day. I really look forward to making sauce and salsa this year. Perhaps the neighbor lady will teach me to can it. She keeps talking about doing that. I might just can the extra tomatoes, too. |
