I worked at my "home" store today. It is so nice to feel missed, wanted, needed...Haven't really felt that at either of the other stores. I was swarmed with hugs upon walking through the doors. It felt good. I return to this store on Monday full time, for good.

The shift went very smooth, even being short two crew. It is a much slower pace than the other stores, but I guess it fits me better. A few of the regular customers came in, and were happy to see me as well. One lady (I really should ask her what her name is) shares my birthday. Two years ago, I had said to her, "Today is my birthday" and she did a double take, and said, "Me too!" Ever since, I just say hi to my "Birthday Lady"...She has two daughters, and I asked if they had plans for their mother, as that day is coming up very fast. The Lady and I just laughed, as no one ever does anything for her, or for me. I keep telling her that the two of us need to just go out together, and leave 'em all home. I am sure we would have a great time.

I woke this morning, and Mike had gone to work. I was all alone...'cept for the dog, that came in my room whining like crazy, needing out. So much for sleeping in. Since I could not go for my ride today, I stayed home and washed dishes, and laundry. The girls started calling, "Is Dad home?" Sorry to disappoint, but nope, he isn't...When he did come home, he helped them move stuff to their new apartment. His way helping? He drove the Jeep, pulling the utility trailer, and unloaded the boxes onto the sidewalk, so they could carry them up to the third floor.

While I was still at work, he started sending me text messages.

Mike: The empty nest starts tonight! They not only get to move the boxes in, they can stay.

me: Should we act like wild monkeys? Change the door locks in the morning?

Mike: Change locks instead of other plans.

me: Guess we have our priorities sorted out.

So...after 24 years of marriage, which started with our oldest kid being 5 months old...We are still together, happy in love, and childless! I always had planned having a few years with a husband before having children. Better late than never?

The girls took Mike out for dinner for helping them move. I worked until 10pm, so I had dinner at work. I rode the motorcycle in to work, as they were using the Jeep, and it turned 30,000 miles! I did not buy it new, so they are not all my miles...It was just over 8,000 miles when I bought it in November of 2007. Mike has ridden it to work several times, so I can't take all the credit...
