My eye has been bothering me for a while, guess today was the day it got the best of me. When I could not open it upon waking, I decided I better get it checked. It took about 3 minutes to work up the courage and strength just to get it open. No, it is not an infection, or "pink eye" or anything gross like that. A couple of weeks ago, I nearly cried in pain when I rubbed my eye, it felt as if I rubbed it too hard or something. And I have been having a hard time seeing through the tears while driving, or riding. So, I made the call. I went to see my regular physician today. After our chat, she called the opthamologist/surgeon, and set up an appointment for tomorrow morning. No way could I get in to see him that fast on my own. I have a feeling he will be dialating my eyes to the size of saucers, so I got a friend of mine to drive me there, and sit through the medical jargin. I have a hard time with that stuff and she is a registered nurse. Good to have friends that understand. She is strong, too, a triathalete, so if I faint over bad news, she can keep me from crashing to the floor. Probably cannot catch my fat butt entiely, but at least save a broken hip. On other news...ummmm, there is none. Been pretty boring around here, I am really looking forward to my mini-vacation. I am talking myself into the solo trip around Mount Rainier. Another blogger on here just came back from camping on the mountain and she is right. It is beautiful, and I should take every chance I get to be there. It will make my one way journey around 250 miles, but that is doable. I don't see any dinner waiting for me, Mike fixed himself saurkraut and brats...ewwwwwww, perfect for him alone. I gotta get up early anyway, to make the appointment. I am not telling my family, so they don't worry. I know a few of them read this, but there is nothing to tell at this point. Could it be related to stuff from years ago? yeah, probably...Will I be dead sooner rather than later? hmmmm, eh? dunno at this point, let me see how this visit goes, and go from there...let me have my mini-vacation without the worry...puh-lease? |
